As a nonprofit press with a mission to reach underserved populations through literature and community, CavanKerry Press seeks to target and eliminate inequality wherever we are able. We stand in solidarity with people of color, and we support movements such as Black Lives Matter as well as Stop Asian Hate.Â
Black Lives Matter.
It is the moral responsibility of the privileged to challenge the status quo that benefits them disproportionately, to educate themselves about the systemic injustices faced by their fellow citizens and call out those who perpetuate those injustices, and to speak out for, support, and amplify the voices of the oppressed until a fairer nation emerges. CavanKerry Press echoes the outcries of rage and disgust from the Black community over every life lost to police brutality and racially motivated violence. The battle for racial justice and equality is a vital, never-ending struggle, which we are proud to support.

Stop Asian Hate.
Stereotyping of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders has been a problem throughout the history of the United States, and since the COVID-19 pandemic began, hateful rhetoric targeting AAPI people has skyrocketed, often escalating to verbal, physical, and social violence. Despite an increase in awareness and data on these offenses and hate crimes, they continue to be widely underreported, leaving communities across the country vulnerable and unsupported during this particularly challenging time. CavanKerry Press calls for increased support for AAPI communities and an end to stigmatization of our fellow citizens.
